Rear wheel bearings

Mon May 15, 2006 4:23 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I had a catastrophic rear wheel bearing failure this weekend. I can only find one source for these but I have to buy them in a little larger quantity than I need. Is anyone else interested in these? You may be able to take a few off my hands. I would have all three bearings for the rear wheel.

Email me @ dbgrubbs@alltel.net

Thanks
Don

I got all of my wheel bearing and seals from the place below. All you need is the # on he side of the bearing or seal.

Holy cow! I'm glad you can afford those prices Steve! I just checked with them. They had them in stock but wanted more for 3 bearings than I can get them for in quantity elsewhere. Think I'll keep looking for another day and buy the quantity if I don't find them anywhere else.

Thanks for the tip though.

If you are looking for a set for an MC18/21, I got mine from TYGA Performance, and they were/are miles cheaper than that outrages price you got quoted Very Happy

I honestly didn't ask. I had called them and asked for pricing. They faxed the prices to me. I called them back to be sure that what I was reading was correct. Went over it with them twice! $75 for the 62/22 and $65 ea. for (2) 60/22's. I even mentioned that I thought the prices were high and he said "hard to find bearings". Oh well.

I did a set of 5 bearings (2 fronts, 2 rears, and a sprocket carrier) for a little over 1/2 that price recently.

You only have to ask! Wink

Finally got all the bearings and seals in the mail yesterday and the NSR is back on the road. Apparently, the rear bearing had been going for some time. Occasionally I would hear a strange grinding noise but could never figure out where it was coming from. I know now. There wasn't much left to the larger bearing out back. A few ball bearing were untouched but many of them were ground down to dust. Quite a chore digging the race out too (thank goodness I own a dremel).

Anyway, I have spare bearings (almost unobtanium in the U.S.) if anyone ever is in need.

I always got my NSR wheel bearings from King Bearing.

Don't think they have a website, but they have a phone. That and your going to need to talk to them anyways.

Get the numbers off the side of the bearing and call them. They always got mine in a couple days.

These bearings are not hard to find... I just hopped down to the local bearing store (Whistler Bearing in Colorado Springs) and they had them all in stock, plus some. They were on average about $20 a piece. If anybody needs to locate some, just drop me a line.
