Parts trouble in US

Tue May 02, 2006 6:29 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I called three dealers in the USA this morning and none said they could get me any parts. Not even an HRC dealer. . Wasn't somebody saying something about a special code that can be used to force the order through?

Also: What is the difference between the HRC jetting kit from Apex @ $75, and the one from Tyga @ $230? There must be some kind of difference for such a huge spread in price.

I am in the US, and I dont have any trouble getting parts.

Of course, I have a few contacts in Japan who can march right down to any Honda shop there and get NSR parts... Wink

Like I said before, I have a small stash of stuff on hand that needs to go, stuff I picked up when I lived in Japan.

Or you can order anything from Tyga.

Or you can get a hold of Jaime on his website and order from him. Shipping may be a bit high, though.

Or you can enlist in any branch of the US Military and beg to go to Japan yourself, which you will most likely get if you ask for it.

If you are going to talk to US dealers, including HRC dealers, you had better have a real fat wallet.

You never answered my last questions about parts(?) Right now I'm just after gaskets and seals, then I need an upper fairing, windscreen, and Rothmans decals. Also need to get the tuning mods out of the way.

thats where I get all my grey market bike parts from. You probably wont find any dealers in the US that can get nsr parts since they never imported them here

Also: What is the difference between the HRC jetting kit from Apex @ $75, and the one from Tyga @ $230? There must be some kind of difference for such a huge spread in price.

thats because the prices at apexleisure are in GBP Wink

You will need to find someone (or someone with contacts) outside the US to send you parts. HRC will have nothing to do with the NSR because it was not imported to the US. I have only found a few parts that cross over. If the part # has KV3 in it I highly doubt it will cross over. I tried to get parts from Honda Americas racing department you can get RS parts through them I guess. I got the # from a friend that was racing an RS 125. I was told that they would NOT get parts as the bikes were never imported to the States.

I'm working on an order with redline right now for all the parts I couldn't get otherwise.

I didn't account for the exchange conversion at first, but 75 pounds still doesn't equal $230. Anyway, I ordered the one from apexliesure.

Redline seems to think they can get the stuff and they're easy to deal with. There seems to be a couple other sources as well. I was able to get allot of the seals and o-rings from Ron Ayers which has good prices. Much of this stuff is generic to other Hondas. I also have some stuff on order from Tyga and Apexliesure. We'll see how everbody performs. I prefer to order from state side dealers so I don't have to pay extra shipping charges and exchange conversions.
