Track Day Mallory

Fri Mar 17, 2006 6:55 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I'm doing a track day at Mallory on The 31st March (no limit track days i think), and was wondering if any you guys are doing it / up for it. It will be my first ride on the rs, can't wait. Also i believe they have stuck a new chicane in somewhere near the exit of Gerrards? Does anyone know anything about this?

Cheers Nigel. Looks like they've managed to screw up one of the best corners in the country Sad . But reading some of the discussions, sounds like they wont be using new chicane too much. I can remember racing round mallory pre edwinas and pre bus stop, it was a quality circuit then.

I've Not crashed at edwinas, but i was one of the first to crash at the bus stop. The first meeting held with it. Got a bad start, screamed out of the hairpin and forgot bus stop was there, ploughed my fathers tz250 streight into it Embarassed . Come to think of it, there arn't many corners on uk circuits that i havn't crashed at. lol

I`ve crashed twice round Gerrards, one going in & one coming out (f**king fast)! Aerodybollock solid dished wheels & a howling cross wind caught me out going in on a special streamlined 125.
An over eager throttle hand when already wheelspinning on a TZ350 got me coming out. P1ssed me off as the bike was immaculate before.

High sided the TZ coming out of the hairpin also, remember looking at the ground coming up & thinking "this is going to f**king hurt! It did, yet another crash helmet wasted. Still, where there`s no sense there`s supposedly no feeling!
Worst thing was getting up & seeing about 15 bikes screaming straight at me! Remember thinking, they look just as scared as I am!
