If the subframe hasn't been changed, I believe there should be a sticker on it with R8L or whatever. Mine does.

If it's been raced or abused in any way it may be impossible to tell what it once was. It's unlikely that an owner would swap a dry clutch, forks and shock. No hang on, someone on here is doing it right now! Laughing

ME! Very Happy I have an SE that im taking the clutch and gear box for my R (decided against the suspesion after trying it out, the stock r stuff felt better) I think you bought the chambers and rear subframe from me, If i recall the subframe also had a model number on it! well the r dose its says 7RL on mine this might help. But in the quest to get a mint bike like you ive changed alot of bits on mine. also look here it may help http://workshop.nsr-world.com/ it has frame number ranges.

And it is possiable that your bike had the clutch changed, there was an SE on ebay a week or so ago that the guy changed the Dry clutch for a wet one, or so he said, And the SE i have will be up for sale as an R with se/sp suspension once ive finished it!

WHY...
the SE/SP stuff is better, its fully adjustable for a start and can easily be rebuilt it only cost me £70 to have my SP unit rebuilt by K-tech in coalville and it came back gleaming and with a new remote on it.
If you look in the suspension bit it even states on the site that the R spring is longer than the SE one and makes a good upgrade, i can second this as i have done it and i will lay my ass on the line and say that my revamped SP shock with R spring performs as well (as my untrained ass can tell) as my Maxton shock on my NC29.
mate i would seriously consider keeping the SE stuff and putting the R stuff on the other bike when you sell it.

LOL i was waiting for that! Ive tried the SE stuff and didnt think much of it, rightly so i should get it rebuilt first, But from the tinkering i did it started to feel good then i wacked the R stuff back on and the bike was just so much better. I have decided to get Ohlins next year anyway and have the front rebuilt as my stations and front legs are in good cond, so ill leave the Se stuff on the bike it might make it sell better.

Hope I didn't waste $$$ on my new SE/SP front end & rear shock. Rolling Eyes I'm sure it will be a good upgrade compared to the R stuff. What's the plus using the R spring?

no mate, your se/sp suspension will be fine, just my r stuff is in good condition and for the moment will do the job, The se/sp stuff i have feels like it needs redone/rebuilt and as i have decided to put ohlins on my bike later next year i might s well keep it as is and sell the se suspension with the other bike. as itll be of no use to me! so dont worry listen to monkey.

The R spring is a little bit longer than the SE/SP one so if you can get one, swap it over and the se stuff will work better.
