Mon Dec 12, 2005 8:05 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi All. Well i have just got rid of my rsv1000 mille Sad and got a honda rs250 Very Happy . Can't wait to do a track day on it. It looks sooo sweeeet.
My mc18 is coming along nicely, rs250 seat is fitted. Aprilia rs250 fairing is fitted, allthough i still want to modify i little more to make it a bit more unique. Got a set of zxr usd forks to fit on it. Tyga gp pipes fitted. Just leaves fitting wheels. Have got some carbon fibre ones but not sure what disks will fit them. Talking of wheels has anyone got a set that will fit my rs as i could do with them for wets????
Just leaves my other mc18. Completely stock, a little scruffy. Don't know what to do with it Confused maybe sell it?
When i get a digital camara ( if santa thinks i've been good enough) i'll try and post some pics.

The rs250 is a 1993 rs250rf with a 98 motor in it. Can't do pics yet as i havn't got a camera Sad . Hopefully will get one for christmas, then i'll post loads of pics. The rs is the one that was on ebay recently. White with RS graphics in black. It's in very good condition for a race bike 12yrs old. Can't wait to ride it and see how it compares to the nsr? I used to race back in the eighties. Started on a 125 honda mt, Then a 125 mba (lazzerinies 1978 world championship winning bike). Then a tz250h. So i have a good idear of what to expect Very Happy

No disrespect to the TZ, but the RS is going to be in a whole different league... in fact, in the words of Jules from Pulp Fiction, "It ain't even the same f**king sport"!! Laughing

Neither are 99% of NSR's unfortunately!! I think you will be amazed at the RS's performance - both handling and power delivery.

Hmm,

a TZ250 is much more a race bike then the NSR250, as is the RS250.

After riding, and racing NSR's for five or more years, and getting on an RS250 I can say they are very different in so many ways. They only thing they share is the fact that they are motorcycles.

The NSR is actually a much easier bike to go fast on, but you run into a limit of the NSR in power, and handling. The RS is so much beyond that!

Having said all that? Every once in a while I will get feed up with the RS and my trying to get up to speed on it, and go back to the NSR. After one session, I will be back out on the RS, cause the NSR makes me lazy in my riding Smile

Not this one!

I was referring to the 1981 TZ250H that Dan was talking about in his previous post.

What I was actually saying, is that a 98 kitted Pro-Arm RS is going to be one hell of a shock to the system compared to even the TZ, which would've been a fast bike in it's day... er, 25 years ago!! Smile

And tell me you couldn't get an NSR round a track quicker than that TZ! Smile

I've said it before, and will no doubt say it again... ask Matt@TYGA about the superbike race he competed in where he managed to put an F3 NSR on the podium against the thou's!! Shocked You're right, the NSR is no RS, but in the right hands it's still a very capable bike.

I see you keep buying and selling RS parts all over the internet Dr.!! What's the latest project? I see you're after genuine SP bodywork now, could it be an NRS for the street? Wink

Looks sweet, I'll have one one day but probably the single sided model. You don't see many working pre '93 ones like drschneider's for sale anymore and I'm not too sure how easy bits are to get for them, NSR cylinders are hard enough to get for reasonable money as it is. Anything after the single sided one is going to be silly money to buy and maintain.

This '95 one was "only" £3000 c/w spare crank, cylinders, fairing, subframe, jets, sprockets etc.

However this2000 mile old '05 model and it's entire package is £15k Shocked
