Powervalves Help.

Mon Sep 05, 2005 6:50 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Can anybody help, are the powervalves supposed to move up and down when you turn the ignition on? I have a Mc18 RK5, I thought they did so adjusted them and it moved when I switched it on, then you drive down the road, doesn't pull in high revs. Then I stop and rev it and they don't move at all. I have adjusted them again, they don't move when I switch on, but still moves when engine is started and you rev it and it seams to pull up in the high revs ok. What do I need to do? Confused

When you first turn the key "on" the power valve with go to its start position. If when you turned the bike off the valve was already there it wont move.

To set them up you need to disconnect the TPS (right hand side under the seat) and then turn the ignition "on". The valves will then move to adjusting position. Line the marks up.. or use the holes on the plates. Turn the ignition off and reconnect the TPS.

Once the bike is running as you blip the engine the power valves will flutter back and forth, that's normal.
