Err.2 effectively means the PGM-IV is detecting excessive resistance to the RC Valve operation, caused by either carbon build-up on the valve flaps themselves, or corrosion/dirt build-up inside the actuator cables.

It doesn't necessarily mean you need new RC Valve flaps or even new cables. You can extract the valves (the best way is with the genuine Honda tool, which you can buy from either Honda or TYGA Performance [TYTO-0014]) and clean them with a wire brush, and lubricate the cables to ensure they are free running. New cables are available from T2 Racing in Japan.

Ensure you replace the special E-clips and oil seals when you replace the RC Valve flaps.

You can find our full [Honda approved] MC28 English Service Manual* in our Members Content area.

Sorry for the delay in responding

and for my poor English.

We cleaned the valve and replaced the cables, but the fault persists.

The electrical system was checked, and the mechanic told me there's no power from the control unit to the valve.

I've noticed that sometimes the control unit or the card needs to be repaired.

How can I know if I need to repair the control unit? And who can do it?

Thanks everyone for the responses.

Hello,

I am not as experienced as everyone else on here but I can tell you that I was having issues with my RC Valve motor and I think, besides looking for a used one on Ebay or even Jauce the Japanese version https://www.jauce.com/search/Honda+NSR250R+MC18+RC+servo the best option to get a working product is to send your servo to T2 Racing who will exchange it for a good one within two weeks of receiving yours.

I am in the middle of that process. I sent mine to Japan a week ago.

Contact Yukako Hanakawa via e-mail: shop.t2r@gmail.com

Also Ebay has some but of course we don't know if they are any better than yours! https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=1988+honda+nsr+250R+RC+Valve+servo&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_odkw=1988+honda+nsr+250R+RC+Valve+servo&_osacat=0

Thanks for the answers.

Do I need to reset the card or the control unit after cleaning or replacing the exhaust valves?

Or when should I send a service technician to clear the error?

Thanks everyone for the answers.

The error code will clear itself when the issue is resolved.
