I'm an MC21 guy all the way, but a Rothman's '28 just looks, in the words of Murray Walker, faaaaaaaantastic! Smile

It sounds really nice.

I've wanted to implement a like (or thanks) button for a long time, but the forum software is rather aged, and have been unable to find a MOD for it. The software is already rather heavily modified too, which is why we've never ported it to a newer system with more features.

Actually, I still use the forum in its original state, with even fewer features how than most members view it. (To see how I originally visualised and use the forum, go to your profile settings and choose nsrWorld in the "Board style" option near the bottom of the page, if you're interested.)

I had my Magtek wheels stripped and refinished by a company in Bristol recommended by GT performance- excellent results and great colour match however within a 12months they are awful despite never seeing the road.
Almost as if they were damp when worked upon and moisture was trapped under the coating roaching them out from the inside.

So not convinced I’ve bought replacements from Japan that look mint and have the original if very faded decals still on them

I’d be very interested in other peoples experience

Wouldn’t fret about a ‘Like button they’re for lazy millennials who can’t string a coherent sentence together and there aren’t many of them around these parts

Mind you as we all get older it might come in handy to have one for when we lose dexterity or our marbles

Personally, I'd have to say no, don't do it. Maybe get yourself a set of Enkies (or another set of Magteks if your budget will allow) and paint those gold, but they don't look right with gold wheels... wrong era. Only the '88 and '89 500 had gold wheels, and all the 250 Rothmans bikes had white wheels.

Now, if it were a Repsol, and you said "I've taken the wheels off and I'm going to get them finished in orange", I'd be offering you a lift to the refinishers! Laughing

Maybe if i think they look amazing i will put some pics up, if not dont think i could handle the comments! we'll see! Also interesting theory, maybe should have sent the wheels off in the summer as now the damp may get in, however heard nothing but good things about the company i'm taking them too so we ll see.

ROTFLMAO

Sounds like my reputation preceeds me! 🤣🤣

We're not as bad as we used to be... I know I've mellowed a bit in old age, but still won't blow smoke up your ar$e just to get a "like"! That doesn't do anyone any good! Smile

I won't look bad with gold wheels, but it might just look a bit odd to anyone who's been around NSRs as long as I have. At the end of the day though, it's your bike, and whatever you like is what's important. I had to think long and hard over gold or white for my MC21, as I was thinking of going Rothmans, but gold matches more liveries so stuck with it. Horses for courses, as they say.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Rothman MC28 with gold wheels, interested to see the result. One thing, just don’t go to gold. The colour used on the Honda RC30 HRC wheels is about right I’d say. Defo not Ducati gold.
