Ridiculous! A programmable Ignitech is pretty much a third of the price -- maybe half the price with a bit of dyno time added on too! The problem is it's still not just plug'n'play yet, but there is absolutely no reason on Earth why a Chinese copy should be £800, other than opportunism.

Yeah I agree, Infact I emailed them back yesterday saying pretty much the same as you, it won’t make any difference to them but it made me feel a bit better 😄

Bikes back together with new coils and yet another Pgm, fired straight up and runs perfect. So that’s it back in the workshop never to be used again, I may have fixed it or I may not have, I can’t afford to find out.
A sad end to it really.

Well because I can’t leave things alone and I also don’t like being beat i ordered some more components for the pgm and attempted yet another repair on the original Pgm unit. It has a burnt board but with some epoxy putty and some copper strands I think I’ve managed to repair it. I put power to it and nothing blew so hopefully when I plug it in to the bike it will work. I’m hoping to just use it as a sacrificial tester so I don’t fry my last good unit.
I’ll update the outcome as soon as I can get the enthusiasm to try it!

Hi all. After fitting new loom and finding out the mot hasn't quite run out, i took the nsr out today, with spare pgm in rucksack and staying local. Very steady at first slowly building speed and revs while covering the clutch and eventually wringing its bloody neck. All went well apart from it pissing down about twenty times. 70 miles covered and the only problem was me, I ache now 😃. I didn't have my lights on due to my voltage drop issue. I'm not calling the bike fixed yet but its further than its been for a long time so fingers crossed.

Spurred on by Slugworths success I fitted the pair of genuine coils I bought and the new Pgm unit took it out for testing and it’s FIXED! 52 miles of pure shitting myself but it ran absolutely faultless. I stopped and checked the Pgm about every 15 miles and it never got more than slightly warm which is normal.
It’s only cost me about £1200 and 100+ hours of my time! 😂

Result, i bet you were sh----ng yourself for that 50 miles, at the rate NSR prices are escalating, that was £1200 well spent.

It was horrible, I’ve never been so tense riding a bike! Also knowing that if it does die again it’s another Pgm unit cooked!
Hopefully I’ll have another 3 years of uneventful riding with it now.

Excellent news mate. I tried not to look at the mileage for as long as possible. So relieved when it got past 60 miles. I've done 165 miles on mine now and am a bit more relaxed 🙂. Still going to take time to be worry free though.

I've been away from the forum for a while, building the new site (and working too much!), so it's great to come back and read this.

A bit "after the fact", but I've often thought the one thing people tend to overlook is the wiring harness itself. I have alluded to it in past posts, particularly with bad earth/gound and "dry" joints deep within the harness.

I tried contacting DMR before about a more accessible way for western owners to buy their products, but never heard from them. How are you guys dealing with them, and is it straightforward enough?

Hi Andy, I tried contacting DMR myself but never got a reply. While I was searching the Internet I found that Webike are selling loads of DMR parts including the loom. Very straight forward to order from them and they're postal service is very quick. Go to the Webike website and type DMR in the search bar.

Here's a couple of pictures of the loom, second one has the old loom next to it for comparison.
