New fairings or repair?

Thu Jun 11, 2020 10:11 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Old fairings seem to be breaking in certain places, namely the mount points. Not sure how to tell whether these are genuine Honda fairings or aftermarket copies? What markings in the moldings to look for? If they're genuine Honda would be tempted to repair them, if not, replace.
Thanks all.

If they are genuine they will have a part number stamped in them an a date. xxxx-KVx-xxx or something like that. Most aftermarket (especially chinese) fairings have no markings.

I have a full set of MC28 fairings i was thinking about selling.

Not sure what characters these are, but guessing these aren't genuine?

You should find some injection moulded stamps, although sometimes these show up in replica faring but much less defined...

I concur! Never seen a pattern panel with factory stickers either.
