nsr250se mc21 carb need some input/help

Wed Apr 08, 2020 9:32 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Evening. so i was in the process of reassembling my carbs after cleaning them and found i had two different needles, emulsion tubes and mains. The problem is i didn't keep the parts separate for what carb they came out of. I didn't think they would be different.

So i'm trying to get them back together to heat cycle the rebuild motor. Any help on what goes with what would be much appreciated.

So i have the following needles; J3LB, J2LC
emulsion tubes; one with 8 holes, one with 16 holes
main jets; 128 and 130.

Thanks everyone!

It sounds like one of the emulsion tubes is an HRC item. Is it about 2mm longer on the larger end [where the main jet screws in]?

This diagram should help identify which carb is which...

Sorry it's a bit small, but should be clear enough for identification purposes.

You are spot on, one is 2mm longer then the other.

It's 2mm longer so the HRC needle doesn't stick in the main jet when it's set on the top clip! (Also the number of holes differ as you say, which has a big effect on jetting.)

Finding another stock one should be easy enough. At the very worst, you should be able to pick up another set of carbs for spares for very little money.
