Men Behaving Badly!

Sun Jan 05, 2020 4:51 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I got a few track days in this year but the most fun I had were the Brands Indy evening meet ups with Johny Mac, Les and Tony Luck. Its a perfect little track for a 250 and ideal for pissing off riders of bigger bikes.

Stand out moment for me was following John round as he passed a couple of riders round the outside of clearways with fairing, exhausts and foot pegs dragging, one of them nearly fell of with the shock of it, I nearly fell off laughing Very Happy I must get myself a Go Pro this year!

Well, it begins with an H, you cant beat what you already know, at least I can push this one in and out the garage, probably keep the old dinosaur for a bit so my boy can join in the fun, such a shame the RS fails the noise test. Yeah saw Johnny today, he's climbing the walls not being able to work in the garage, but he did have me down there today doing some lock wiring for him on a 28.

No, fancied one, but couldn't find a decent trackday one, so went for I/line four and 600cc with a few mods, been up the road ( private ), on it, and jesus it revs reminds me of the old nsr. Looking forward to Brands now

Good stuff, Paul. They're all looking great!

I was going to recommend a CBR600RR, Les, or early 00s R6. The 03-04 CBR is a nice looking bike for a bore-stroke, and you just know it's going to do a bit of everything perfectly well while remaining totally reliable.

Will keep you posted Tony, its good to get a group of 250's out. If this mild weather keeps up I'm thinking of getting a day in end of Feb/March. Either Brands, Snetterton or Cadwell.

If you all fancy going round in circles for a day (maybe with the Yamaha/TDR guys?), I might be up for renting Llandow later this year. It's been a long time since we were last there, and it's always been a great day.

Ideal on an nsr, been a couple of times since we all went a few years ago Andy. You don't get a lot of rest, a lap soon flashes by.

I'll see how many make some noise on this thread guys, and then make some follow-up enquiries with Llandow and the Yamaha lads. They've always been supportive in the past, as you know.

The idea will be the same as all the other times I've rented the place; just to cover the costs (circuit hire/marshals/ambulance etc.). We'll agree roughly how much people want to pay for the day, and that will dictate the number of places. So for example, if you only want to pay £80-85 and the costs come to around £1800, then 22-25 places will be up for grabs. I've always preferred to keep the numbers as low as possible, to try and keep it (a) open pit, and (b) as personal as possible.

Sounds good Andy. Keep us posted on dates, I guess we are looking at the summer months?

I know a couple of people I might be able to talk into it.
