Hi Pierre, I don't know the level with standard exhausts, but my track 21 with Jha exhaust and HRC open airbox registers 98db on the noise meter.

Does that include the " body wrap "around the tank area at scruitineering? Wink

Hey, ill pretend I didn't hear that, besides i'm allowed to put a " few " calories on over the festive period, plus I don't have to fret about that noise meter with my new track steed.

My MC21 restoration is underway... and I'm going to need to lose a lot more than "some excess" before I ride it again! ROTFLMAO

And Les, don't tell me you've bought a bore-stroke?! Shocked

Yes Andy, I thought i'd pop over to the dark side to see what all the fuss is about, nothing too modern, just a 90's zx7r, like the looks, and that's where it ends, spent a small fortune trying to shed a few pounds off,, the bike not off me, but she wont play ball , so at my age i'm afraid she will have to go. But no worries I still have a garage full of smokers. Keep us updated on the 21 resto, is that the cup noodle one?, should have kept mine, best paint job on a 21 ever.

Yeah, it's the Cup Noodle, Les. Not sure what direction to go with it yet as far as paintwork, but it will remain [relatively] OEM silhouette.

Those ZX7-Rs are pretty chunky bikes, aren't they?! Solid and reliable though.... but what self-respecting 2-stroke enthusiast was ever interested in solid and reliable?! Laughing

Pretty pissed off there was "never any time" to do my bike while I was with GTPE (when umpteen other bikes were done!), Rob, but what can you do?! Hopefully it will be done before the end of the summer.

StephenRC45, but he doesn't use the forum much, if at all any more. He still supports NSRs though, and I still recommend GTPE as the most knowledgeable workshop in the UK to work on them.

Good to hear the NSR is getting the attention it deserves at last Andy.

As for the noise it does depend a lot on who is operating the sound meter (and who is holding the throttle at 6K Wink ) My track bike with JHA's and pod filters has been measured anywhere between 98 and 102 DB!!!
