Neutral light issue MC21 Engine in MC18

Tue Jan 03, 2017 7:28 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have an MC21 engine in my MC18 and and had connected the neutral wire from the GPS (red/green) to the neutral light wire from the loom, so I can get the neutal light to work with the 21 engine. The light would'nt come on, so I remembered that the neutral switch on the 18 acts an earth to the engine. I connected the red/green wire from the GPS to the engine block, and the neutral light came on Very Happy , unfortunately now however when I go through the gears it won't go off Sad Any ideas?

I think I have got to the bottom of the problem, I took the GPS out to have a look at it and realised I did'nt fit the GPS properly with the peg in the neutral position after engine rebuild. I have unfortunately broken the peg but it appears to be a small dia cotter pin so not too much harm done this time!
