r motor vs. se motor?

JohnBlaze » Wed Mar 30, 2005 4:47 pm

hey all,
iv got an SE motor Im rebuilding and one of the cylinders looks pretty tore up. I want to use one of the cylinders off my R motor. I vaguely remember there being something different between the R and SE cylinders. the heads are also different right? the kv3l has higher compression than the kv3h part.
trying to get away with this motor without have to fork out the cash for a replate. between my 4 cylinders i have 2 good ones but one is a 'B' from an R and the other is an 'A' from an sp.
also...whats the trick to using muriatic acid to clean the aluminum off the nikasil? i was playing with it last night and it seems weak.
