welcome to the forum!
is that the MC18 off of ebay with the blown motor? check that engine that came with it, as i,m sure its not a 18 motor. i was looking at one of the other bidders history, the one that was bidding everyone up. and they lived in the same place as the seller, and had got a mc16 engine identical to the one in the pictures from benny2t off ebay Shocked

Very Happy whats the bet the auction was bid up. that was a lot to pay for what you got, mine cost a couple of hundred less and all it needed was painting.

welcome beck600cbr Wink

as jeff says the motor looks like its a 16 so will need a bit of work to fit in to the 18 so you might be better off repairing the 18 motor with the 16 parts. Confused

Yup, Welcome. Always good to have another MC18 around. Afterall they are the best of the NSR range. Hope you get it running and maybe you can coem down to the Dyno shootout.

Havin fun at the mo just trying to get the motor out!!! Honda didnt give us any room to work on these, took me ages just to get the airbox off!!!!
Keep you posted!

Hi, given that i have a running mc16 engine i was wondering wat combinations i can use to get the bike running? Can i put the mc16 barrels on the mc18 bottom end? if so, can i put the mc18 pv's in the mc16 barrels? if not, i have the servo for the mc16 pv's so would they be "plug & play" with the mc18 loom? Finnaly the heads, mc18 or 16??
Thanks in advance,
mike

Hi all,

The '18 is now up & runnin!!! It had blown the front piston. I have used the '16 barrels, heads & pv's......but i have 1 problem! 1 of the heads has a nackered thread for the spark plug(doh),is helicoiling the head a viable option? or do 1 of you have a nice cheap '16 head spare????

Cheers
