How do you get the rear wheel off ???

Tue Feb 08, 2005 5:00 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

hi,
i need to remove the rear wheel of my mc21 for a few reasons (new disk, sprockets, fixing the ding in it). ive got the back end of the bike up on my car axle stands but after half an hour and about a litre of WD40 i cant seem to undo the axle nut Crying or Very sad .

i dont want to put to much torque into it incase i wreck something as i have a habit of doing, is there some trick to it? the left side has about a 24 mm nut and the right side has about a 22 mm, is only one side removable? or are the threads reversed for some reason?

the sooner i get this all done, the better, cos then i can get a roadworthy and reg and ride it legally Very Happy

thanks
Tim

Lots of leverage on the side with the nut, it will undo eventually. Maybe someone has used some sort of threadlock on it!?

woohoo it came off! i think the WD40 worked its way in overnight Very Happy although it still needed so much force that the bike kept lifting off its stands when i turned the wrench Razz
