Dog Fight Pipes

Fri Apr 02, 2010 1:07 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Would Dog Fight pipes produce usable road going power or are they purely track orientated(all top end-no mid range) power?
Are the pipes model specific? If so, is this based on clearance/fitment or to run correctly with the right motor or both?
I'm asking because my NSR is a hybrid(MC21 motor and frame with MC28 swing arm). Which pipes would work best, MC21 or MC28?

OK, do you use them on the road or soley for race track use.
Did you rejet after fitting them? The guys at Dog Fight racing said the best setup was standard airbox , filter and jetting. I'd have thought you would need to re-jet.

If you leave the airbox and filter standard there's probably no reason to rejet with ANY pipes. I'd say do the airbox mod, wiresplice, and pipes and then jet to suit and it should be a LOT better than just pipes with standard stuff.

That's a nice word to see in the middle of a sentence about jetting...

Did you not think that was a true statement? Taking that word out would be a hell of a lot worse than putting it in there. That's my own opinion and worth what he paid for it.

I think disagreeing with their advice of leaving it stock and maybe giving some of your own advice would be time better spent than nit picking my choice of words.

OK guys, lets not all get up in a huff about a word. I understand that every bike has it's own setup and since Dog Fight make the pipes they should know best but if you have other mods to the bike then you may need to rejet.
Anyway, thanks for the advice Craig. Does anybody know if you need to use the standard Honda exhaust gasket with these pipes?

Oh no you said "MAY" need to rejet! LOL

I'm a normal Irish boy too. Everything is worth getting into a huff over; then there's an excuse to have a couple pints to forget what we're fighting about.
