Mon Jan 17, 2005 10:47 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

thanks to andy i now have an MC21 front end comming for my MC16. i,m also going to fit an MC18 swinging arm. what i,d like to know is, should i use a 17 or 18 inch rear wheel. i can find 18,s no problem. even a magtec from salobike, but i cannot find a 17 as yet.
should i use the MC16 or 18 shocker?

I'd go with the MC21's 17" wheel, as there is a much better range of tyres to suite it. I'm sure we can find you one easily enough! ;)

'21 shock is too long. I have a feeling either the '16 or '18 shock will work, as may an early (1987-8Cool RS250, if you want something a bit more special!

will the 21 shock, fit an 18 r5k I know its a little longer but when you are 6FT6" and no lightweight the extra ride height might help.

Download the plans on the Technical Resources page, and make up some MC18 F3 linkage plates. That will increase the ride-height by 25mm (1" for those Stateside!!) and stiffen the rising-rate.

Just to add to that.... The RS250 shock will also transplant directly to and from any RG500 strangely enough as I run an RS250 Ohlins on mine although it's quite and experience setting it up on the road...

I should clarify... I mean HRC RS250, not Aprilia RS250. Is that the same as you are on about Binka?

Nup.... it came off a Honda......

Apparently, which means I can't really verify if it's true but that's what the man said.

Confused
