Checking out the PGM111 unit

Sat Jan 08, 2005 8:22 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all,
After reading about the guy who keeps blowing PGM units, I'm wondering if there are any checks that can be done with the pgm to make sure that it is functioning properly prior to connecting up the wiring and getting my bike started again. The bike was running when I bought it and sounded fine but was very dirty and in a seriously sorry state visually.I have stripped and rebuilt the showa front suspension, stripped and rebuilt the maxton rear shock, refurbished the magteks, refinished rear swingarm and refurbished all the existing bodywork back to its Rothmans gleaming best. I reckon I'm about halfway through the rebuild now, of what I hope will end up as a cracking 21sp Rothmans. I'm a novice learning as I go, its slow going, however the plan is to get this bike ready and bring it to llandow and meet all you guys. Lots of questions to follow as engine is about to come out and go on the bench to be stripped, fettled and then rebuilt Rolling Eyes Bear with me if some of my questions sound stupid Embarassed over the next couple of months but your help will be appreciated.
Best regards
Martyn

Keep up the good work!

I don't know of any checks for the PGM, since we've next to no info about it.

Only thing I can think of is to plug it into a known-good bike and ensure it works.
