Oh, it'd definitely be the RG for me I'm afraid. Although a TZ chassis would be way better than an RGV chassis, the Suzuki motor is way better than the RD motor, in my opinion. It sounds so much better too!!

Maybe an RG500 motor in a TZ chassis?!

I'd still personally like to build an NS400 (read Terry Shepperd 500) in a TZ/TZR chassis to make a V3 KR Marlboro Modenas replica!! :D

The RG was definitely the more bonkers bike, but the RD just looks soooo right.

gotta agree with andy i am afraid, although i agree that the RD500 looked better than the gamma if you measure it from tyre to tyre you will find that it is about 2.5 miles long. Laughing

Sounds? Are you mad? I'd buy it to have in the lounge, not to ride!

When I were a lad I had to choose between buying a GSX-R 750 and an RG 500.They were both a very similar price new at time.
I got the 750 and have regreted it ever since........
One reason was the dealer threw in a GSX-R paddock jacket and didn't have any RG ones! That and I needed to wait 3 weeks for the RG.
We all make mistakes.....
Yes dear coming to do the washing up now.......
Hope that wasn't sexist!

The RG500 chassis is ok until you try to do 1 thing and that is go around a corner.
It gets worse if you are going fast too as you really 'feel' the flex in the head stock but what can you expect from a bike whose front forks are only just bigger in diameter than drinking straws from McDonalds ? The front end gets all out of shape from the rest of the bike but it generally behaves. Nothing Mr Spondon, Mr Metmachex and a fat wedge of £££ wouldn't cure.

The RD500 is a pure pig to tune. Weird engine config but it is a true V4 even if they blow up for fun and the bottom end goes kaboom at exactly 20K miles Laughing - You could just have it sat on a paddock stand with the rear wheel turning and you - 20K miles and it lets go !!

4 cylinder 2 strokes are motorcycle sex in motion Razz
