You need the hrc kit emulsion tubes as well, I think they are p/no:16165-nh3-911.

Just as well eh, because getting the parts individually isn't exactly easy! Confused

There's not much wrong with stock needles really.

cheers for the info chaps. i was thinking that perhaps it maybe advantageous to have needles I could alter should the need arise in the future, i've always got me eye out for stuff so it helps to have the right part number, seems like a lot of the NSR stuff has to be snapped up quick or its gone.

thanks for the nudge stephen, i assume the airbox mod normally just needs a main jet change then. Idea Cool

A jet change should be at very least considered after ANY airbox/exhaust/ignition/engine mod, and really should be expected.

Sure, it's good to have the adjustability of the HRC needles, but they must be used with HRC emulsion tubes, and they differ significantly to the stock ones. To use them effectively you need the HRC air correction, and so it goes on.

That's why you buy and fit the whole kit.

Your thinking is similar to mine Ricey. It would be to your advantage to assemble a HRC jet / carb kit if you can. If you ever run open carbs or want to go to SS/SP settings, you'll need them. If you don't, you should be able to sell them on without losing money. Yahoo Auctions is worth keeping an eye on.

Normal HRC MC21 jet kits fetch very good money on there.

They do indeed, and weak a Sterling doesn't help matters.

i was under the impression that the b needles were very similar to the stock needles in terms of profile but just had the adjustment to boot, rethink required then, there'd be no point in me trying to amass a hrc jet kit as it would be overkill, but i thought a set of b needles, holders and kit emulsion tudes plus an array of mains 140-155 would give me the scope to change things if i needed.im just looking for 60hp and i'lldie a happy man Laughing

more than aware of re-jetting considerations when carrying out mods, the question to stephen was just to confirm if thats all thats normally required, so i know what to get in before taking a trip to the dyno, the rgv's i had have always benedfitted from altering the needle height along with the main, suppose thats about the only plus of the rgv.

on a lighter note I took the fairing off tonight and it looked like a bird sh@t bomb had gone off, base gasket had developed a slight leak and there was white crap every where, looks like its gone though an expansion tanks worth of coolant, luckily it wiped of ok and it was just a couple of cylinder nuts at needed a re torque, suppose it was the good run yesterday (200 mile around derbyshire) and it getting hot in traffic that did it. no harm done its all hunky dorey now. And clean Rolling Eyes

Yes, you can certainly just get away with a rejet (and stock needles) with a modified airbox lid. If it's all in tip-top order you should see 61~62hp.
