CBR400 Parts onto an MC16

Sun Feb 15, 2009 5:36 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Good evening!

I am trying to look for different ways of upgrading my mc16's running gear, for various reasons, tyre choice and looks being high up the list.

I have a TZR250 3XV swingarm in the shed but its about 1" longer than the '16's item. I was hoping to save this for another project anyway.

MC21 stuff rarely comes up and I expect it to be quite costly due to the rarity value.

Soo I have been looking at CBR400 NC29 kit as this seems to be reasonably available for not much dosh. Has anyone used any gear off the cbr400's in the past?

Any advice gratefully recieved!

Thanks
Paul

The CBR (and VFR) shocks are in different positions to the NSR. The CBR is wildly different.

Your best bet is an MC18 swingarm. Mk1 will go straight in, or a Mk2 will fit if modified slightly. Do a search... it's all be covered before.

An MC21 rear wheel will go in an MC16 swingarm. Jeff350lc did it years ago.

Ok Andy, thanks. The nc29 item looks quite heavy too so doubt it would do Wink

Will have a look for an '18 swingarm and wheels.

Cheers!
