NSR 125R Clutch removal

Tue Apr 28, 2009 5:16 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Got a little job on a NSR125 R (S reg) Need to change the clutch plates. Cant get the clutch basket off, the nut in the middle refuses to move. The normal points for fixing the clutch holding wont fit and the whole thing drives through the gearbox. Has anyone removed one of these before and are there any secrets to it i am missing?

Could the thread on the nut you're refering to be reverse threaded? On my son's racing karts (Yamaha motors) the large nut in the center of the clutch is reverse threaded to avoid spinning off.
Just a thought, although I'm not the least bit familiar with the NSR clutch.
