Mc28 Jet Replacement/Removal

Sun Jan 11, 2009 10:13 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi People
I'm struggling with the fitting of my HRC jet Kit. Mainly the replacing of the needles as there so different to the 21's im use to. I've got it to the stage of getting the slide/needle removed but cant get my head around getting the needle out.
thanks

The needle is held in with a little white clip. You need a very thin phillips screw driver. A quarter of a turn anti-clockwise and alittle pressure should release the plastic clip and then allow the needle to be removed. The white plastic clip is retained on top of the needle by a spring.

Yes thats it, press lightly down on it while you turn it anti clockwise. You'll feel it release. You can then just push the needle up with the clip retained on top.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! What were you thinking?! Laughing

I can only assume you could only find an MC28 HRC kit and not an MC21 kit? No sane person would fit MC28 parts to a 21, surely?! Very Happy

Not that I could be of any help, but the 3rd clip position (middle) works out to be just under 4mm from the clip to the top of the needle. Just a guess.

Hell yeah!

If I had known he was fitting them to a '21 I'd have kept my mouth shut. lol

Clip postion #1 though is at the top of the needle.

The best needles to use are the ones in the stock HRC kit. These are J8Y(a), (b) or (c)

Have you ever tried to run avgas needles on pump unleaded?

It brings a new meanings to rich!

A25 needles are the later needles to be used with the 030 card.

HRC base settings are noticeably richer with them, and staggered conventionally.
