de-coke end cans/silencer?

I just finished de-coking my exhaust pipes using the caustic soda method. Got quite a few carbon flakes out...

However, I separated the pipes from the end cans/silencers. Is it safe to use the same caustic soda de-coke process on the end cans/silencers?

That would explain why no one ever said anything about them when I searched on the de-coke process...good thing i took them off then!
