cooling

Sun Jun 20, 2010 9:12 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

there seems tp be a few people reporting front cylinder fouling over the years and wondered if the way the cylinders are cooled could be a contributory factor ( the front cylinder recieves the cooled water from the rad first , where the rear cylinder gets coolant from the front cylinder)??

Have you done a temperature check to see how much difference there is between the two?

I suspect the water is moving quickly enough round the system for there not to be too great a change, though I would expect the front to run cooler simply because it is in the airflow, where the rear head hardly receives any.

I'm at a bit of a loss with this question... what do you think the (little plastic) splitter on top of the water pump outlet actually does?

I did wonder... I mean, questioning if something on an NSR could be improved to the level of an RGV?! ROTFLMAO

From my experience setting float heights, having good float valves & seats and especially a new fuel tap helped a lot with the front cylinder fouling up.
I reckon gravity is the biggest problem Very Happy

Hmm... I've found gravity my biggest problem on a number of occasions too! Confused
