Hard Decision

Wed May 28, 2008 8:23 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi All,

I have a decision that I have to make, I have sourced an NSR MC18 in the area which I live in is and is about half the price as a normal one but it has no fairing and clocks etc but is in good mechanical condition. I would go for a MC21 but cant find one Sad

My idea is that I want to buy tyga fairing anyway so why spend the extra cash getting a bike with fairing etc when I can get a bike for half the price anyway. The thing is i would like the clocks etc! So i would have to search for old clocks to fit.

What do you think? Should I get it and take or should I spend the extra cash on getting a complete bike but then bear in mind I have thing spend even more on the new fairing etc.

Regards

Keep what you have if it's as mechanically sound as you say. You should be able to pick up some clocks no problem, and as you already plan on fitting an aftermarket fairing you won't miss the original.

How about fitting a race dash? Fairly cheap and available right now off the net.

Clocks are easy to come across.

I know several MC18 owners that will dust people with later bikes! Drop the front ride height a little, raise the back a little, and tweak the motor the same as you would any NSR, and it's still an awesome little bike!

As Wayne says, clocks are easy enough to come by. If the worst comes to the worst, open an OKShon! account and buy some off the auctions at Yahoo! Japan. Used parts are dead easy to get.
