MC18 Derestriction problem

Fri Oct 22, 2004 11:03 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi there,

my name is Padelis and I live in Greece.A friend of mine bought a MC18 in pretty good shape. It is one of the first generation mc18s that honda produced and i am trying to derestrict it.When i disconnect the Black/Blue wire the rc valves stop working. When i connect it the valves work.Any opinions on this problem?????The valve motor is from a mc21 as can see from the colors.Couold that be wrong???????

Thanx in advance
Padelis.

PS:I am buying a set of rvf forks for my mc21 SE.Any tips??????

Don't panic yet - most people don't come on the foruim at the weekend, so you may find you get a reply soon from someone who knows.

I guess if the servo isnt off an MC18 its possible that unplugging the wire under the seat might screw the servo up. Maybe try and get the bike on a dyno and see if its still restricted. If it makes good power in the higher gears then maybe someone at some stage has already somehow derestricted it. That way you coudl just leave it how it is.

I dont panic.I just dont have much time to "play" with the bike. The bike is still restricted, it revs up to 10k in all gears.I think that it is the servo motor. There must be some compatibility issues cause it is from an mc21.Where the hell did i put that mc18 servo motor?

Thanx in advance guys
Padelis
