indicator flash speed rate

Thu Apr 17, 2008 7:44 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hello i have a problem with my indicators .they flash to quick ( bike soon to be mot'ed) I think they must be aftermarket ones as they are clear lenses with orange bulbs, and the bulbs are 12v 10 watt ,when i put a 12v 21 watt bulb in they flash at the correct speed ,fine but the larger bulb wont fit in my lense body. can i add a resistor in the circuit to compensate for the lower wattage bulb and if so what value please ,any help welcome
thanks Malc
(soon to be on the road with a repsol mc21)

Are they LED or incandescent? If its LED you can either run a resistor or go with a digital flasher unit.

Hi I think a 7.5 ohm resister in line with each side will bring the power back to about 40 w per side .
