mc18 r5k pick up coils

hi all
got myself a mc18 which im restoring, trouble is im getting no spark, i have found one of the pick up coils is knackered. has anyone got a spare set kicking around at the back of their garage if so i would appreciate a call or if you have any info on wheather any other models have a set that will fit my nsr

You can also use the pick up coils from either a MC21 or '28 but the pick up leads need extending to reach the MC18 connector.

and you'll need to add the neutral switch lead

Hi Are you sure it's the pick up coil ,not just the lead to it thats nackerd ? Also where are you in Sussex ?

The lead to it can't effectively be replaced though, so it's a complete assembly replacement required.

If you pm me today with a phone number I could pop down to sunny Worthing and have a look, Andy was correct that you can not compleatly replace the cable but can solder on a new one and heat shrink it if there is a bit of original cable showing. I might have a spare set in the garage ,I'll take a look .

but ive just managed to buy a brand new pair of mc21 pick ups which i will be putting on tomorrow, hopefully that will get me sparking !!!
