MC21R not revving smoothly past 10,000rpm

Thu Jul 19, 2007 8:18 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

The following modifications where done by the previous owner who ran the bike on premix:

"Hi Mark,i put the carbs back to standard except for the main jets which are bigger because i soldered the #75 power jets up as recommended by hrc."

As the bike has the oil pump will I have to change the jets in the carb?

I have noticed that the airbox has been drilled and a standard air filter is installed.

The bike runs fine upto 10,000 rpm

any advise will be greatfully received

I would think that normally just a tad too rich would not cause that sort of problem.

I'd forget what whoever has done to it and just treat this as a normal problem and check the normal things, dirty carbs, bad connections, dodgy coils etc.

See, this is why it's so difficult to give good advice, and why I will NEVER give jetting information.
