Rear brake line question...

Thu Jun 21, 2007 3:48 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have stainless lines on the NSR but the mech who did the work routed the rear line UNDER the swingarm and back to the caliper...not only does it look like shite I am sure it is wrong. Any tips or sugestions?

re-route it. Drain the system from the rear caliper end, un hook the line from the rear caliper and re-route it properly, replace the banjo bolt/crush washers and re-fill/bleed it out.

Should be good to go after that.

Or whip off the back wheel, remove the caliper and route the whole thing without opening the system...

What, like this?

That's how a stock line is routed too.

Yep, like that. Mine actually touches the pipe...it has plastic wrap on the line and I have heat tape on the pipe but it still cannot be good to have that close....we all know the temp the pipe reaches....looks much worse to me as well...
