hey everyone im new here im in the process of rebuilding my 1987 mc16 as my best freind decided to borrow it 6 months ago and crashed in into a tree at 80mph.
rebuilt the front end with new mc16 shocks (£15 ebay ) didnt even have to change the seals luckinly the only other damage to the bike was all the fairing was wrecked and when i removed the exhaust the lower cylinder exhaust was like a siv with all the holes in it and the upper one had snapped clean off at the top (replacment ones via ebay 0.99p) im hopfully getting replacment tyga ones soon tho.
im not going to replace the fairing but in gonna make it a streetfighter and make my own fairing for the back.
just wandering if anyone has any ideas for a few things.
does anyone know where i can find a replancement ecu for it.
any ideas how i can improve the carberation, preformance of the engine?
anything else?
im pretty experienced with most things just new to the nsr 250's
forgot to say i want to stick k and n style filters cone shaped things to it and wandering what jet sizes i'll have to go upto as its a pain in the ass reaming them till it runs just right then buying ones the size of the reamed ones then fine tuning

The only way to get decent performance from the '16 is to replace the carbs and barrels with '18 items I'm afraid. The carbs and ports in the barrels are too small on the '16 to make much more power.
ecu? do you mean the cdi units( there are 2 on a '16) under the electrics junction, just behind the headstock.?
Honda has them new, about£100 I think, or e-bay is your best bet. _________________ it's a name, not a condition
no i ment the single unit that controls the rc valves and the ignition timing.
i may have got this wrong btw so sorry, it had a wire lossly attached that when i repaired the engine ran smoother this was when i first got the bike and was located under the rear seat.
