With a new dyno day in the making heres the leader board of proddie 250cc bikes. These are the best from Honda (including MC16, '18, '21 and '2Cool, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki and Aprillia that have been tested on our dyno.

Now you know what you have to beat..... This should be easy for you WB!

First Kawasaki,

Martin Froggots KR1S sporting race pipes, ported barrels, air box mod, flowed reeds and lightened flywheel. 63.3bhp.

Aprillia,

Ben Cockerals 2000 RS250 with Arrow full race system and moded air box. 62.1bhp

Yamaha,

'91 spec TZR2503XVR, I cant remember the lads name but his only mods where Lomas pipes. 51.8bhp

Suzuki,

Daves, RGV250M, Skimmed heads, ported barrels, ported cases, flowed reeds, ign advanced, air box mod and Nikkon race pipes. 65bhp

Now onto Honda.

First up is Jeff's MC16. HRC pipes and not alot else, hes got some '18 barrels and carbs that when fitted should bump him up into the 60's. 43.5bhp

My own MC18R5k, Tyga GP pipes, HRC jet kit, moded air box. 63.2bhp

MC21F3, Sorry another one of mine.. almost everything. 70.7bhp

MC28SE, Our very own Fontyyy's. Tyga pipes, air box mod, HRC 030 card, HRC jet kit. 60.7bhp

What about an MC11 or MVX250... Have you ever had one of those on it?

mmmmm. Nice set of curves! So when's the new dyno day? I'd like to think with the mods we've recently made to the 3XV-R we could beat the other 3XV and the MC16 (what's going on there Shocked ). I'd like to run my MC21 up too, so that I can get an idea of where I need to go next with the Honda. It keeps giving me neglected little looks from under the 'blanket of shame' every time I pop into the mother-in law's garage. Must get it sorted in time for spring. It's actually a very pretty one and in very good nick really. But the motor just doesn't feel quite right. If only there were more hours in the weekend...

Cheers

The '16 is held back by ickle carbs and even smaller exhaust ports... Both of which are easy to get around if you do a Jeff and fit '18 barrels and carbs.

Dyno day, you have a PM.

Took my MC21 down to Chris at Road & Track Dyno at Aylesbury. It's putting out 62.2bhp with Tyga pipes, modded airbox and M-Max box Very Happy .
I was quite chuffed considering that the engine hasn't been fettled with!

Do you have any Aprilia RS250, RG500, RD/Z350YPVS, NS4R ?

Lets have a stroker collection, there are not many strokers so it should be possible to get a complete selection, to help buying decision when we are considering buying that third, fourth or fifth 2 stroker ?

Any road up.....going back to the dyno graphs. I think that we need to throw out the F3 'cos we all know it's gunna kick ass Twisted Evil

The RGV in second doesn't count because it's a Suzuki, and it's got the same sort of mods as Steve's F3 but it's 5 gee gees adrift, which is a rather poor showing Confused

The Krapperkazi in 3rd is very impressive for a 200 year old parallel twin, but it's green so it doesn't count either. No one wants a green bike...seriously Embarassed

So this puts the antique MC18 top of the charts Shocked

Probably.
