after having owned a nsr250mc28 around five years ago , and stupidly selling it to buy a big four stroke i find myself trying to find another.
maybe my old one is known on this site??
k61*** se model was painted in biaggi's malboro colours when i sold it.
i really really loved that bike! had race pipes of unknown origin that were so loud sounded just like the race bikes....
anyway - i find myself bored of big four strokes (currently have gsxr1000) and am trying to find an elusive smartcard again.. hoping to spend a lot of time and effort making it into a daijiro katoh replica...
so if anyone has one in any condition please let me know..
Welcome and good luck finding one, they are around and do pop up from time to time.Leigh(Watfordhorn)on this site has a 28se that was painted Baiggi Marlboro colours and is a K reg so it might have been yours, have a look at the Homepage as its now on there in its new colours.
crikey that was quick - would be much apreciated if you could send me any pics and any info of its history check pm's..
cheers.
and yes that nsr could be my old one... im northampton and traded it in at a dealer in leighton buzzard.. would have been easy to recognise, marlboro paintjob with the honda stickers on backwards!!
thats what you get for letting a car painter do the job!
anyway, hope to soon be re-entering the wonderfull world of two smoke, and a fair bit of help on this site i expect
Nope thats not your old bike....cos I have it! Although I have owned it over 7 years and someone owned it in between us.....time must fly.
I guess your mistake in selling it loss was my gain...hehe. Its now fully updated in the Fortuna colours and RSW bodywork and until yesterday was the bike on the front page of this site, also bike of the month on Jamies site last month. The pipes were JHA's which now also have titanium end cans.
wow was it that long ago!!
i traded it in for a yzf750 - what was i thinking?
well im glad to know that it is being well looked after anyway mate.
anyone have any idea how many 28's there are in the country??
i tell you what though mate - i was the first owner from import and when i brought it i was told it was a 95 model yet the dvla sent the paper work back as 93.... have you ever checked it out frame number wise?
i can't beleive it was that long ago when i had it..
time has flown
Yes I think you are right and it is newer than 93, in fact the guy I bought it from told me it was a 95 as well, although I have never really bothered doing anything about it
Not sure how many 28's there are in the country but its not that many, good luck in finding one, although it may cost as much now as when you sold mine all that time ago. I paid £2200 for it when I bought it and I have a sneaky feeling its worth a few more pound than that now .
Its good to hear from a previous owner, especially one thats looking for another....its such a small world where NSR's are concerned.
i originally bought it from superbike city in leighton buzzard , they have long since gone - i was told they were doin dodgy deals !
they had no idea what the bike was. i payed £2500 for it and it must have been 10 years ago thinking about it now!!!!
the bike was fairly scruffy cosmetically and missing its fairing lowers.
i got the coerce rearsets from a guy in a ducati wsb team , he got them from singapore.
i had them set up for the gear change 5 up 1 down as i was used to that from racing.
it had ali race pipes that had no manafacturer mark on them and i had them polished to a mirror finish from header to end can , it didnt have jha cans when i sold it.
i got some lower panels new from west coast superbikes and then had the whole bike painted in biaggi's marlboro paintwork from the 250's that year which i think was 97??
anyway my brother did the paint and he's a car painter hence why the honda wing tank sticker was on backwards.
i did manage to slip off it at low speed once as well - somehow the card jumped out enough on a twisty road one night to turn off the lights. i stood it up straight on the brakes and just toppled off into the verge at about 10mph. didnt damage anything other than my pride!
i traded the bike back in at the same shop for a yzf750 that was up for £3000 straight swap. not long after the shop closed
When I bought the bike the pipes had been painted silver, maybe they had begun to rust a little and it was cheaper than getting them re polished. The pipes had no markings on them but they have been confirmed as JHA's, and your right, they were very loud! (many people may remember from Llandow last year). I have however just changed the silencers for titanium ones which has made it a bit too quiet . I also had quotes to get the chambers plated but it worked out too expensive so I rubbed them back and painted them black.
I still have all the Marlboro bodywork up in the loft, although its a bit tatty...but thats to be expected 10 years on.
The coerce rear sets are still set up the same and I have begun to like the upside down shifting, so much so I will be setting my MC21 track bike up the same.
The guy I bought it off purchased it from the shop in Leighton Buzzard and I bought it off him.
Hope you find a good bike and join the track day coming up at Llandow.
