Very Happy he went from 11th to 4th, he's doing okay, 4 th in the championship split only by 12 points, early days hes comming!!!!! he's probally been caught off guard by all the new blood, it all adds up to a good season! be a bit boaring if he won the first 3 races. at least he's gona have to work for it this year! in 2 races he came off the track and still recovered well!

It was funny to see Danny today run accross the track hands out like a little boy wondering what the feck happened!

250 race was brill, still cant get over that contact at 170mph!!

Why would he be? He's had it all too easy for a long time, look back a couple of years and who did you really expect to beat him? The field hadn't changed much since Roberts won in 2000, Max was never quite as good as Rossi, especially once they went 4/, Sete and Marco never even had proper factory support and Loris (probably the only one of the old guard who wasn't beaten before the race even started) hadn't had a factory ride since Aprilia fired him for nerfing Harada in the 250's. Only the emergence of Ducati as real front runners has saved him.
The "young guns" are a different story, Danni has the best 250 record (pro rata) EVER and has full HRC backing, Stoner has shown he's probably just as good, Marco was the youngest ever 250 champion, Hayden is coming of age and if Suzuki ever get everything to work for an entire race Vermulen may just surprise them all.

Rossi qualified 11th and 3 seconds off the pace, he's damn lucky Danni fell off and the Bridgestone runners didn't last race distance otherwise he'd have been at least three places and maybe five further down the field at the end of the race.

A new era indeed, another rookie on the podium, three races, three different manufacturers winning, Ducati winning (on Bridgestones), Suzuki's running on the pace and a Suzuki on pole (the first one since when??), it hasn't been this good for many a year.

Well like you said he qualified 11th, sure he came back from 11th to 4th. But in the past he has been on the front of the grid and had many amazing middle of the pack come backs to win, almost like his bike was that much better then everyone else & his ridding has been amazing & impeckable. The young guns have certanly changed the racing, I just want too see him dicing it with them. Hopefully next weekend ?

Nicky in the point lead, I guess being a American I should be happy ! Go Nicky.

I think they said Rossi had problems sorting out the front end this week. I think he did pretty good in the race though. I was a little dissapointed to see Hayden fall back just a couple laps from the end. Danny fell of corse giving third back to Hayden. I was impressed with Stoner, but I think he needs to mature a little. Over all I thought it was a real good race.

Rossi who?

I will say this race was one of the most exciting races I have seen in a long time. I think it really showed the level of talent there is on the grid this year. There are some new blood coming from 250's that are really bringing some competition to the series, as well as some other racers that are stepping up their pace.

Hopefully the type of racing we saw today will continue all season.

It was funny, the first couple laps I was like What the hell is this? Did Suzuki go buy a couple Honda's or something?

I'll tell you why. He's not the god everyone thought he was. Will people now accept that Doohan is GOD.

It's such early days and you're writing him off! He was behind Sete and Max in 2004 for about 5 races wasn't he... He won the last race for goodness sake!

Stoner was superb but Pedrosa I think is genius... An inspired ride that HRC will be proud of, even if he lost. 17th to 1st! If he didn't wreck his front tyre lapping in the mid 53's trying to catch the leading group I'm sure he'd have won. If he ever qualifies well and then gets a good start the other I think are fooked... What I love about his riding is the way he just dispenses with other riders. No sitting behind them for 4 laps blah blah.

One of the best races in a long while.

This is a year for great two wheel racing, Supercross series has been tight, this coming weekend is the final and should be great finally. Superbike, Matt Maladin getting beat buy his team mate Ben Spies, again tight, and MotoGP, exciting & tight also. Every weekend is so exciting it almost tempting to stay home and not ride, almost. Thank god for VHS ! Glad to hear you say Rossi not done !

Something that's funny is all the discussion about how Matt is lossing his touch. What's really interesting is that this time last year he was down in points where he is now this year. So we can't write him off just yet, as well as Rossi.

But you are correct, racing so far this year has been exciting, and hopefully it will stay this way. Supercross here in the states has been very exciting with Stewart making a good run at Ricky. Hopefully Ben will keep it up and give matt a run for his money, and it would be interesting to see some more racers share with the top spot this year in GP.

Looks like the mighty Honda's plan is coming together though... They wrote off Rossi, either from them being stupid or too proud or whatever, to concentrate on the future. Yes, they've been smacked up for the last 2 years, and quite possibly this year too if Rossi does his normal trick, but they had 4 RCV's leading most of the race, all with pretty young, very talented riders...

Throw in Elias who seems to be getting it on, and I'm sure they'll be replacing Tamada soon with another future hope (Vermuelen poached back??), and they look set to get back to their days of Repsol team domination very soon. I'm sure Yamaha and the rest are worried...

I really hope Karl Harris gets a break at world level with the Big H.
Rate that guy very highly.

They didn't write off Rossi, he left to avoid being labled (Doohan stylee) with the "only wins on the best bike" label.

The boss of HRC has said he's welcome to come back.
