Which gearbox Oil / Engine swap

Sat Apr 01, 2006 12:29 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I'm doing the SP engine swap tomorrow. Laughing Laughing Laughing

My question is. can i use normal 4t oil in the gearbox or does it need to be motorcycle transmission oil.

The reason i ask is that my dad has sh*t loads of Castrol GPS 10w/40.

Also is there anything else i should be aware of with the engine swap?

Update:

had a look at the oil situation and there appears to be some very clean (not like its going to get dirty) gearbox type oil in it. I think I may just leave it as the engine has had a very recent rebuild.
