Was wondering (as I do sometimes!) what the 'street' value of a good condition 21 would be.

Say for example Frank or Monkey's bikes - what value would you put on each of these?. I know Frank's is a one-off - but even a good guess would be appreciated.

RGV's seem fairly static in their pricing - but with NSR's being rarer - I find it really difficult to work out in my own mind what a fair price is for one.

I've looked at a really nice low milage (8K miles or so) clean 21 recently - only mods are Tyga bodywork and a 28 rear arm - and the owner is looking for £2.5 for it.

I would have though that £1500 - £2k would have been nearer the mark, with a standard 21 maybe being around the £1k - £1500 mark - but am I deluding myself?. Is a 21 worth that kind of cash?

21R in top nick is worth absolute tops (it would have to be showrrom) £1500

My R which had just had a new crank was mint under the bodywork but the bodywork was a 'little' tatty went for £1200

I bought my SP for £1500 but I beleive I got it cheap, I have seen some people recon you can get an SP for this or less but I have yet to see them.

To me right now my NSR is priceless but in the real world I recon it would fetch £2200 ish on E-bay, but would take £4500 right now LOL (so not quite priceless).

I think 2.5 is to much for a 21R with Tyga bodywork and a proarm (why would you want a 80s style swingarm ) knoock £500 off and you are closer the mark.

£2.5k will get you a real '28 if you want something trick.
If not they're just a waste of money, not significantly superior to the '21 in anyway. With enough coxing the PGM4 may be capable of better results but it's expensive coxing.

In my opinion '21's are currently the absolute bargain bike in the country. Great if you're buying, not so if your selling.

Really the only smokers I've seen fetch anything like what they should be worth are 28sp's and RGV250vj23's, everything else is peanuts.

When it's back and running nice I doubt my '28 is worth much (if any) more than £2500.

Have to agree with Monkey and Fontyyy here, Ive spent around 2.5K (maybe more ive lost count) on my nsr + the original purchase price of £1200 but would be lucky to get 2K -2.2k for her as fontyyy said you can get a 28 for 2.5 - 2.8
I think what you need to do is look more at the history of the bike rather than looks, Mine had damaged rear seat fairing, aftermarket front fairings and warped disc's, but i still bought it because there was a load of recipts as thick as your arm, The crank had just been replaced, it came with a cd rom that had pictures from previous owner including emails back n forth from Apex and Andy (nsr-world) regarding up keep and rebuilds. Get a good history on any 2 stroke and you cant go to far wrong!!!

I know where there's a mint '28SP in HRC colours, all original except Jha GP pipes and rear-sets...



Gonna set you back around £3200 though.
