carb help needed,please ...!

Sat Feb 25, 2006 4:12 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I just rebuilt a mc16/18/21 mixture ..

I have started the bike ,and it seemed to rev ok etc,but the rpm was sitting up around 4000 ish on tickover..

Im adjusted the tickover down which helped, and shut it off.

Now ,I refueled bike but when I started it there fuel coming out of the right overflow, constantly pissin out, after losing litres of fuel on my garage floor I managed to pull the fuel pipe off to save it running out.

so I though there may be a problem with the carbs,so I had a spare set of carbs I stuck on,same thing ? fuel coming out of one side lower overflow and higher overflow with a collection of fuel in the main body.

the slides and needles are going up and right down perfectly, theres something not switching the fuel of on the right hand side carb, any ideas ?

I'm not to clued up on floats, but it like its stuck ? , but on both sets of carbs on the same side !??

please help I would really appreciate it.

Yep, floats will highly likely be the culprit. You'll need to get in there with some cotton buds and clean them out thoroughly.

A little Brasso on the tip will help clean the float needle seats up, but don't go mad. Make sure the rubber tip of the needle is in good condition too.
