Advice wanted on NC35/MC21 headrace bearings.

Tue Feb 14, 2006 12:03 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi, can anyone give me any advice with regard to which taper roller headrace bearings I need. I have an MC21, and am in the process of having a stem swap done on some RVF400 NC35 USD forks. I'm a bit thick when it comes to these things and don't want to order the wrong ones. (Not without having someone else to blame anyway) Wink As the stems seemed to be the same diameter, I imagine NSR bearings will fit, but they are not listed at M&P. A part number and a link to a supplier would be great. Thanks. Confused

if u are using a nsr stem and a nsr frame then i would say u will use the same bearings as u did before with nsr forks. someone could correct me if im wrong but that would make sense to me.

I thought you had to have the NSR stem pressed into the RVF front end you cant just swap the RVF front end straight over.

I am having the NSR stem pressed into the RVF triple clamp. I know that quite a few members of the forum have done the same mod and assume that they have replaced the bearings. I am thinking along the same lines as fstnsr in that NSR bearings should fit, but my local Honda dealer does not have the NSR250 on his parts database, so can someone confirm that these are the correct bearings, and reccommend a supplier. Cheers.

You need whatever bearings are standard for your NSR... 18,21 etc. I think Andy does them, but if not, try BAT Motorcycles, Kent, who should have them from stock and can next day them for you.

maybe you could do a step by step thing for the site when you are doing this conversion, you know take a few pics advise how you get round things like the forks touching the rad that kind of thing....just a thought.

Thanks for that maxim.

As for the step by step thing nsrmonkey, I have no idea how to post pics, but i'll certainly keep everyone informed on the progress. Nigel Kimber (of YZR500 replica fame) is doing the engineering work and I should have the front end back by the end of the month. I'm currently trying to fit the Tyga 250GP tail on but nothing seems to be lining up. It's as if my fuel tank is about 10-20mm too long Crying or Very sad

The mods so far are:
Tyga 250GP bodywork (street)
Tyga lite fairing brace & meter stay
Tyga rear LED light & carbon look number plate mount
Tyga carbon look rear hugger
HRC rear brake reservoir kit
Kawasaki ZX10R clutch lever bracket & front brake master cylinder
Ducati 749 Brembo 4 piston 4 pad calipers (brackets by Nigel)
CRG billet CNC'd folding levers (works of art)!

Still looking at rearsets & Ohlins rear shock & Shell advance Tohru Ukawa replica paint, but currently taking a financial breather!

Cool will loooooook sweeeeet, i am sure that if you were to mail the pics to andy he would be able to sort something out for the site, the RVF front end conversion is something i am sure alot of people on here would be interested in doing and some sort of step by step fitting would be a good thing to have on the sire as i dont think its anywhere else on the net....just a thought.
