PGM II 3D?

Mon Jan 02, 2006 3:53 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

apparently the R5k had a 3D pgm, i am wondering if any of you have used a 3D in place of a pgmII? without any mods, do you guys know if the 3D pgm says "3D PGM" on the box? or will it say PGM II 3D? i am assuming it must say 3D somewhere on the unit,. if the pgm II's are for the mc18 R2/R4 what did the PGM CDI come from if the MC 16 didnt have one i am assuming the PGM CDI is PGM I...do ya follow this?....i tried, any info would help Very Happy

A PGMII unit is off a 89 RK not a 88 R2/R4 and just says PGMII on on it. The R2/R4 used a type of PGMI.

The R2J and R4J are Mk1 MC18's from 1988, the R5K and R6K are Mk2 MC18's from 1989. The MK2 MC18 RK's were fitted with a PGM II, this had a 3D ignition map (but only says PGMII on the box), where as the RJ's from 1988 were fitted with a type of PGMI.

The MC21 is fitted with a PGMIII but still doesnt say 3D on it.

An RG is an MC16 from 1987 and came before both the RJ and the RK range of MC18's and wasnt fitted with a PGM at all. It had two seperate control boxes the same as the RC30 did. Have a look on the main site under "model history".

i checked all that out very closely i was double checking with someone else,( YOU )it talks about the these items but not in the order or answeres the questions like i wanted to hear them for instance it doesnt say a 3D is a pgm II specifically and it doesnt say that the mk1 uses a pgm I it just says it uses a pgm cdi well i need to know if there is a specific pgm I. i think it is safe to assume that the box marked pgm cdi is #I so thanks for confirming it all for me. now i can buy parts, i down loaded 30 pages of cross referencing info from there between 4 models just to find out what will work with each other and i hope all THAT info is correct and complete, sure would like to see the MC18 parts discription though.
