When I was in Okinawa and my bike was in a state of "semi-derestriction but otherwise stock" condition, I was pulling about 300km before I hit reserve. That was basically with the airbox opened, rejetted carbs, JHA pipes, and stock keycard. And most of those miles were travelling over 100kmh.

IS the bike properly setup? Try taking it to a dyno to get a power output graph - it'll tell you loads about the state of the engine.

Have you checked carefully for leaks?

What colour are the plugs?

Is it modified n any way?

Is it running standard gearing?
