It really pisses me off looking at them, all the parts you could ever wish for and no way to buy them!!!!! Although I did get chatting with a US soldier based in Japan who bought and posted a few HRC goodies for my MC21. He's left Japan now, DAMN IT Evil or Very Mad ..........

Im sure a lot of the Japanese based members on this site would be more than willing to get things for us non Japanese based members. I paid him a few quid for his troubles and everything was sweet!!!

why

Sun Oct 09, 2005 5:57 pm » Post: #3 » Download Post

Very Happy why cant you buy them. contact the seller, most of the japs can speak and read english. I worked there for a few years and my jap is less than basic. and most of the people I worked with found no problems to comunicate. It might surprise you that they will ship overseas. I have brought toys/motorbikes and cars in without any trouble. appart from a container bash on my skyline.

For us poor idiots who cannot find such great deals, could you maybe post some links or point us in the right direction for these goodies?

All is not lost. You can use an auction service but it can get very expensive. Not too bad if the parts are rare. Go to www.rinkya.com and check it out. I have used them to buy stuff before and sometimes you can get a great deal. However, be careful of all the fees.

If you are buying large items like engines, bikes, etc... you can use a company called: http://www.isibike.com

Hope that helps.

I just moved to Japan and have been playing with Yahoo auctions here. It's a bit frustrating to say the least. Yes most Japanese know some English but 90% of your english emails will be ignored. They seem to be annoyed dealing with non-Japanese buyers as it slows things down. Like the previous poster said, most won't ship overseas. Almost all items are shipped domestically COD. Real simple for the seller.

I might be persuaded to purchase some items and re-ship them overseas. I need to figure out how to calculate shipping etc. I have been collecting some TZ250 parts lately and am going to start buying some race bikes. I keep looking at all the SP and HRC stuff for the NSR's that is for sale. I just hate to risk buying stuff and getting caught with some expensive items that don't pay to buy when you figure in overseas shipping.

The thing to remember is that SP stuff and mint condition stuff is still pretty expensive here. I see JHA stuff, HRC igntion boxes, wiring harnesses, forks, shocks, etc all the time. I see engines alot as well. If you need something bad, I can get it. If you think you'll find a bargain, it probably won't be there. By the time you figure auction costs, bank fees, shipping domestically and internationally ....
