Tail of the Dragon

Mon Oct 17, 2005 1:48 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Spent a week scooting round the States on an FJ, and can highly recommend the Tail of the Dragon, and Cherohala skyway. Awesome roads in North Carolina. Check out www.tailofthedragon.com for a few maps and stuff.

The FJ was a lot of a handfull on the Dragon, and the 250 would be perfect. Still good fun, though the damn cars got in the way and spoiled it. Only two crashes that day, which is about average.

Go to http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.dll?eventthumbs?event=0DAE001O00&start=696 to see me on the FJ (top left, first 3).

Dave, you should have told people you'd be there. I could have met you up there. I'm only a few hours away!

Oh no! To be honest, it wasn't planned until the wednesday. We stayed at the Iron Horse site, which was nice other than being a dry county. That gobsmacked me! A biker haunt with no beer? And I though I was in the land of the free!

Lots of dry counties left when you get away from the larger cities! I'm just 30 miles east of Atlanta and live in a dry county (no liquor). I have to import my drink!!!

WHAT!!! Shocked

No drink....not even a beer. Even in Islamic countries you can always find a drink. Phew hard time indeed!

Well, not really. Beer is ALWAYS available. Even in "dry" (not completely dry) counties. Just no liquor of any sort.
