lower cylinder misfire

Thu Aug 04, 2005 4:46 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hallo to you all Surprised
My bike is NSR250r mc21 de-restricted and the rest is standard!
I have problem with lower cylinder it works (almost good) but it misses to fire every time and less smoke is coming from pipe. Upper cylinder is working beautifull!

I swap coils and put new plugs but it is same!

Did anyone have same problem? And what to look for?

Thanks

'Misses to fire every time'

Not sure what you mean AGV, can you explain some more?

Where in the world are you by the way - we like to know these things!

Excuse me?
What does "cloat" mean?
Do I have a "cloat needle"?
Do I need one?
Do they help eliminate detonation?

lower cylinder works but not good as upper one!
allmost cold air is coming from pipe and you can tell by sound that it does't fire every stroke for some reason! Confused
What it could be?? Question Idea

[RANT]

OK, Dave has made a point of this only this morning. Start using the appropriate grammar and spelling, or modifying will take place - imminently.

By modifying, I mean I will delete posts, not waste my time editing them.

We've asked politely, now be told.

AGV, my suggestion would be to look very closely at the connection at the coil of the troublesome cylinder. If there is a poor connection there between the blades of the coil and the wiring harness connectors, that can cause misfires (speaking from painful experience here, and yes, I always now think all misfire problems are like mine, but one of these times I've got to be right! Wink ). If you see any signs of pitting or blackening on the coil blades, this may be your problem. If so, try cleaning the blades and inside the female connector with a sliver of emory board or something, and then make sure when you re-connect the coil that it is a snug fit. I ended up just replacing the female connectors and was shocked at how much tighter the coil fit, rather like trading in the wife for .....oops, mind wandered to the gutter there for a moment, sorry. Anyway, I hope that helps (or at least gave a nice image). Very Happy
