Rebuild Done!

Sun Oct 09, 2005 2:03 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all.
I have finally completed my top end rebuild.
was my first time so it was quite a bitch. but i found that it was actually not too bad. it took so long for me as i did not have the right tools and proir knowledge. but i believe next time it is due i can do it in 2 days max!

a questions tho. i have put about 1 litre and a bit of mixed coolant in there. am i suppose to fill it till the cooland goes up to the overflow bottle becuase at the moment it is empty.

oh yeah. it runs great!

thanks nsr-world and members for all the help along the way!

Yeah, the coolant bottle should be full to the lower line. If you overfill it the extra will be expelled when the fuild heats up and expands.

Hi jezzza and anyone else that might know

You use Motul 600 right?
i have never used it before. it says it is "anti smoke".
i noticed that it does not put out much smoke at all. even on start up.

i was wondering if you find it the same. just did my rebuild so i want to make sure i dont have a oil pump failure anywhere. i have beld the oil pump etc and cheked the lines.

cheers.

Yeah I use the Motul 600 and it doesn't smoke too much either (hardly any when it's warmed up) and mine is running a bit rich too (so says the last Dyno run Confused )

I think it should smoke up a little on start up though. But I'm no bike or NSR expert, so don't take my observations as gospel Wink

It's not as scary as you think and we don't ride like Twisted Evil maniacs Twisted Evil either... well not me anyways Laughing

I'm a total n00b too (only done about 3,500kms) and I've only been up the mountains about 3 or 4 times - once in the wet too Shocked Surprised and I managed to get back safe and sound.

Maybe we should do a ride out to Arthur's Seat. I've heard it's much easier than the Spurs.

I think mine will be due for a rebuild in the not too distant future. We could have like a "Rebuild" session Very Happy
