Motegi again

Mon Jul 04, 2005 3:49 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Spent 4 days practising for a big race at Motegi last week. I'll post some video later, but for now here are some pic.s. I managed to drop my time to 2'18" and I'm hitting almost 11,500 revs on the back straight now with 16 teeth in the front and 39 in the rear, so that's about 205kph now.
I'll be back there on Friday to see if I can do any better.

Here's me counting sheep on the front straight:

And after the rain came down I cut some grooves back into the spent tyres with a knife:

Isn't it crap how photo's make you look so slow in a straight line? Laughing

Cut some new grooves? Were you just trying to eek some more life from a set of wets or are you really a nutter and you were grooving a set of slicks?

I was grooving a set of race tyres, the BT090. So halfway between the two extremes. Coming out of the tunnel there was a layer of water and I was getting outrageous slippage at any speed.

Here are some faster-looking photos from a different day:

Is that the transponder stuck to the seat hump?
