NSR250 MC18 Rear wheel issues

Fri Aug 08, 2025 11:05 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I need to replace the rear tyre on a R2J model the tyre size is 150/60/18, usaually for my other MC18 have always fitted Bridgestones BT090 however they appear to be discontinuted. What choices have people used on their MC18's?

I also read that you can fit a MC21 rear wheel straight in as its a direct fit. But what tyre size would you use? does it affect the ride height? or any performance issues?

Prop a silly question just looking for some solutions.

Also, we used to race a ZXR250 that had a 18 inch rear stock and fitted a 17" rear. We raised the forks higher in the triple clamps to accommodate the drop in the rear (lowering the front).

Maybe measure the distance from the bottom of the rear blinkers to the ground and try to duplicate a similar drop measuring the front blinkers to the ground. I know it's not ideal geometry wise, but if you end up getting a taller profile rear tire, it might be a minimal difference.
