NSR250 MC18 TA21 Needle Jet Holder Position

Wed Oct 11, 2023 4:03 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all
Just putting my sons Carbs back together for his NSR250 MC18 R5K and reading the Manual I came across this anomaly.

Page 20-32 in the Service Manual states as follows:
- Install the Needle Jet Holder with the notch on the Engine side. Also hold down the Needle Jet Holder with your Finger so it does not turn when installing.
- However, the picture in the Manual on the same page (see below picture) shows the notch the opposite way round.

Given that he was experiencing problems of lack of performance when the Bike was put back togther I am now wondering which way the notch should be?
The notch was facing towards the Engine (see Picute below) which I think should be correct.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

regards

Philip

The text is correct but the diagram is incorrect. The cut out/notch should face the engine.

Hi
For those like me without a memory LOL! I thought I would do an amendment to page 20-32, as I tend to like a paper version of the manual to refer to.
